Earlobe repair or reduction is performed under local anesthetic (freezing) in the office. This is done to correct either partially or completely torn earlobes or to reduce the overall size.
After the procedure
Post-operatively, there will be bruising that will last 2 weeks and swelling which can last anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months. Most patients return to work at 2 weeks and are asked to wear a compression garment for 4 weeks after their surgery.
Possible complications include hematoma, skin irregularities, infection, and asymmetry.
