Mole removal is performed by Dr. Watts in the office using local anesthetic (freezing). This can be done for cosmetic purposes to achieve a more uniform complexion or for medical reasons when a mole undergone recent changes in appearance.
After the procedure
Post-operatively, there will be bruising that will last 2 weeks and swelling which can last anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months. Most patients return to work at 2 weeks and are asked to wear a compression garment for 4 weeks after their surgery.
Possible complications include hematoma, skin irregularities, infection, and asymmetry.
